The FEEDING MORONGO BASIN project has concluded. The project has spent its allocated $500,000. It has been our honor to support Basin residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District's mission to improve the health and well-being of Basin residents, the Board of Directors, at a special meeting in May, 2020, approved spending up to $500,000 for local hunger relief as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have fulfilled that directive and spent the allocated funds. The final food box distribution event was February 20; the Hunger Help Line continued to deliver food boxes to homes through the end of February.

FOOD PANTRY FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Local Morongo Basin food pantries and other food distribution organizations applied for funding assistance of up to $5,000. Applications were received from active, 501-c-3 food distribution organizations. Qualifying organizations received checks for the requested amount, totaling approximately $85,000. Participants will be required to report to the healthcare District how the funds were spent and the remaining balance until all funding assistance is used.
